Yoga Studio in Amritsar
The KRIYA Space is Amritsar’s premier yoga studio. You can practice yoga and meditation just 108 auspicious steps from Sri Harmandir Sahib (the Golden Temple), either in the newly renovated ground floor yoga space or the open air roof, overlooking the temple itself. On-site accommodation at Hotel Sarovar Regency is provided in the form of 22 comfortable rooms in 4 categories.
The birth of the KRIYA Space began as a dream of RetreaTours and Hotel Sarovar Regency in 2013. BJ & Lauren of RetreaTours had experience leading cultural trips through Amritsar but were shifting their focus to yoga retreats in this sacred area. They fell in love with the location and staff at Hotel Sarover Regency, a mere 1 minute walk from the Golden Temple. They discussed with the hotel the idea of creating a yoga studio and the seed was planted. What grew from that seed is the pre-eminent yoga studio in all of Amritsar: the KRIYA Space (Kundalini Retreat Into Yoga: Amritsar).
In 2015, the KRIYA Space received its first yoga group, all the way from Brazil. RetreaTours brings groups through as part of their India RetreaTour™ itineraries, as well. Now we want to share the space with you and your students. We have developed several itinerary options for you to choose from, and we are able to develop custom itineraries for you, as well.
About the KRIYA yoga space
Renovated in 2015, this well-appointed space is just 100 meters from the Golden Temple! It is located within our accommodation and the main yoga room measures 8.3 meters (27’4″) x 11.75 meters (38’7″) for a total of 86.5 square meter or 931 square feet.
The room is appointed with a 21.5″ (55 cm) gong and 13″ (33cm) singing bowl. The room’s climate is naturally insulated, although fans can be used inside the room as well. There is also an attached smaller room which can be used for meetings, healings, or other retreat activities.
If you wish you may also practice on the open air rooftop. From here you can see inside the Golden Temple complex and hear the sweet kirtan in the air.
